Chess Tournament!

        4-Rounds, Swiss-System Chess Tournament, 30 minutes per player, per game (G/30), open to all born after 12/5/97, at the world-famous Marshall Chess Club, 23 West 10th Street, bet. 5-6 Ave, NYC: 845-569-9969, 212-477-3716. May be limited to the 1st 52 players to pay the entry fee.

     Two separate sections.

     Open, open to all players age 12 and below. Entry fee (EF): $32 if postmarked by 11/26/10.

    Novice, open to players age 12/below, rated Under 1000 or players not yet rated. EF: $31 mailed by 11/26/10.

     Both, $30 online entry at www.chesscenter.cc by December 2nd, $35 by phone by December 2nd, $40 at site, Marshall Club members $10 less.

    Trophies to top 10, top Unrated, top 3 teams (top 3 scorers from same school) each section. 8 weeks free entry to 1st, 4 weeks free to 2nd each section! Speed playoff for 4-0. Limot of two half-point byes (must commit by 11:30). On-site registration ends 9:30 am.  

Game times: 10 am, 11:30 am, 12:45 pm,  2 pm

     List section, USCF ID/Expiration, school/grade, date of birth, December 2010 rating.  Players who register in advance should be at the Marshall Chess Club when their first game begins. Players who do not register in advance must register at site, at least 30 minutes before their first game. On-site registration IS ONLY FOR PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOT ALREADY REGISTERED-- ONLY ON THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT, 9:00 am - 9:30 am.

    Limit of two half-point byes available for players unable to play Rounds 1-2 (must commit by 11:30 am). Official December 2010 Rating List will be used.

     Current USCF Membership is required of ALL PLAYERS (non-members and new players must enclose membership dues in addition to entry fee).  USCF Membership dues are not refundable.

     Entry fee minus $10 service charge is refunded to players who notify the Tournament Director that they will withdraw from the tournament NO LATER THAN 30 MINUTES BEFORE GAME TIME (email chesscentr@aol.com ONLY thru the Friday before the tournament. On the weekend of the tournament, call the Tournament Director at 845-569-9969 or 212-477-3716 at least 30 minutes before game time).  NO EMAIL RECEIVED AFTER 8 PM ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT. ** NO REFUNDS ALLOWED LESS THAN 30 MINUTES BEFORE GAME BEGINS. NO REFUNDS TO PLAYERS WHO FORFEIT WITHOUT PROPER ADVANCE NOTICE (NO-SHOWS)! **

     Players who register online no later than the Thursday before the tournament should print out their registration confirmation AND BRING IT WITH THEM TO THE TOURNAMENT. THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY ENTRY CONFIRMATION-- WE DO NOT "CONFIRM" ENTRY CONFIRMATIONS-- by phone, mail or email! If you did NOT receive a confirmation of your online registration, that means your online payment was not sucessfully received, and you are NOT registered for the tournament.
